Carmelo Anthony was arrested this morning in Denver under suspicion of driving under the influence. According to police reports, Anthony was pulled over at 4:00 AM this morning after failing to drive in one lane of traffic and failing to dim the lights on the silver Mercedes he was driving.

Anthony agreed to a blood test, and will have to wait approximately two weeks for results. His lawyer, Dan Recht in a statement today said, “Carmelo was pulled over late Sunday night on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He cooperated by consenting to a blood test, the results of which will not be available for approximately two weeks. There was no accident and no one was hurt.

“Like anyone in a similar situation, Carmelo has to wait for the results of his blood test. He regrets putting himself in this situation.”

Anthony was released under his own recognizance and is to appear in court on May 14.
