We purchased a pergola at Recreation Unlimited in June of 2019. There were repeated delays, and we finally got the pergola constructed in September. This year, on returning from our winter home, we found several issues with the pergola - the wood was not properly treated, the holes not pre-drilled properly, there are large cracks and splits in the entire structure. I keep hearing that the problem is with the company from which R.U. obtained the wood. I don't care, really, I gave my money to R.U. and they have yet to make this good. The problem was reported in March, and it is now mid-August. Attorney is our next step. Very frustrating!

The structure is made of durable HDPE, double-walled and reinforced with steel all over, the roof has steel trusses to help it stay put and withstand a weight of 23 pounds per square foot, and the floor is made of the same HDPE, it’s anti-slip and it can hold up to 35 pounds per square foot. However, all this is possible only if you have a strong and very level foundation to lay it on, and most recommend going for concrete. The materials and build guarantee an all-weather resistance and a wind resistance of up to 65 mph, and the roof has a 6:12 pitch ratio to help with snow shedding during winter. If the winds in your area are stronger, we advise that you anchor it to the foundation. Maintenance-wise it doesn’t require anything other than dusting and regular checks of the metal hardware.
