Basic Safety Training (BST) for personnel in the wind industry aims to provide the essential skills needed to work safely. Here you can learn more about the selection of GWO courses and find courses that fit your needs.
RelyOn Nutec offers a wide range of training related to the wind industry. All courses are tailormade for personnel in the wind industry. From the entry level all the way up to advanced training for seasoned industry professionals. Our courses are certified by GWO - the Global Wind Organisation, which ensures that delegates can apply their skills and certificates working in the wind industry all over the world.
The wind and maritime industry share many risks and safety features. Based on numerous years of training experience in how to work safely at sea, RelyOn Nutec has developed a training programme specifically for the wind industry.
GWO Basic Safety Training is six-day course covering Work at Height, Sea Survival, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness and First Aid.
This course aims to give the participants the necessary knowledge and skills to act safely. It is imperative to know how to take the right preventive actions - both during regular operations and in a given emergency in an offshore wind energy environment.
Operating in and around wind turbines requires specialised training. The height itself is naturally one of the obstacles in this type of operation. Working in a restricted space is one of the other risk factors.
This course is designed for personnel who will access the Nacelle on a wind turbine. The training also focuses on emergency rescue and escape from wind turbines using dedicated equipment.
If you are new to working with hydraulic, mechanical or electrical systems or if you have some knowledge but not of their application in wind turbines, the Basic Technical Training module is for you.
Students will obtain awareness of the hazards working on hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems, and how to control and mitigate these hazards. The course is relevant for personnel working both on and offshore in the wind power industry.
The module aims to provide a best practice manual handling behaviour and perform manual handling activities in a safe manner. It is a course for personnel who will work in various stages of establishing of wind turbines.
Personnel in the wind industry have to update their safety certificates on a regular basis. During just four days this course allows the student to refresh the learning goals from the GWO working at heights, first aid, manual handling, fire awareness, and sea survival.
Building on the GWO basis modules students upgrade their safety knowledge theoretically but mostly scenario based practical training.
RelyOn Nutec offers GWO training at a number of our facilities. For example in Esbjerg in Denmark, Rotterdam or Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Oostende in Belgium, Bremerhaven in Germany or Teesside in the UK.
In a number of RelyOn Nutec training centres we also offer the GWO Enhanced First Aid and GWO Advanced Rescue Techniques courses.
